Dils is the main sponsor of the exhibition "Robert Capa. L’opera 1932-1954," curated by Gabriel Bauret, presented by the Museo Diocesano Carlo Maria Martini di Milano. From May 14th to October 13th, 2024, 300 works by the celebrated photographer will be on display, selected from the archives of Magnum Photos Agency, co-founded by Capa himself.
The works - photographs, documents, publications, and a sound recording, the only existing one with the voice of Robert Capa - will be arranged chronologically and organized into nine thematic sections to guide visitors through an engaging and emotional journey. Capa rewrote the rules of war photography, elevating everyday life to a symbol of innocence to be preserved. His shots capture historic moments immortalized in a snapshot of harsh reality, fragments of life made eternal by his lens because, as the famous photographer affirmed, "Truth is the best image, its best propaganda." The exhibition also sheds light on a lesser-known aspect of the artist, whose shots often offer a perspective that records events from different angles, placing humanity at the center stage and showing profound empathy towards the victims.
Following the 2023 exhibition "La Crocefissione" by Masaccio, a 15th-century painted counted among the founding fathers of the Renaissance in Italy, Dils is honored to collaborate for the second consecutive year with Museo Diocesano, among the protagonists of art in Milan and a promoter of critical thinking conveyed through a careful and updated view of the world. Both the Group - active for over fifty years in real estate consultancy in Italy - and the Museum value innovation and sharing and firmly believe that the power of knowledge is the key to the new generations.
Dils’ support for the Robert Capa exhibition is part of "This is my Milan," a multi-year program launched in 2022 of give-back initiatives for the city of Milan. The Group will continue to promote targeted projects and concrete initiatives for the enhancement of the territory and the community that inhabits it, as well as for the recognition of local identities, the heart of a precious and lively city.
