Dils patrocinador principal de la exposición "Werner Bischof. Point of View" en el Museo Diocesano Carlo Maria Martini de Milán

The opening of “Werner Bischof. Point of View” took place yesterday at the Museo Diocesano Carlo Maria Martini in Milan, where the exhibition will run from 19th May to 18th October 2026. Dils is the main sponsor of the exhibition, renewing its collaboration with the Museum for the third consecutive year.

Marking 110 years since his birth, the exhibition retraces the work of Werner Bischof (Zurich, 1916 – Trujillo, Peru, 1954), a member of Magnum Photos since 1949 and one of the most influential photojournalists of the 20th century. Curated by Marco Bischof, Andréa Holzherr and Tania Kuhn, the exhibition features 200 original vintage photographs, contact sheets and a documentary that highlight Bischof’s humanistic approach to photojournalism: documentary rigor, poetic intensity and profound respect for human dignity.

The exhibition unfolds across four sections — Switzerland (1932–1944), post-war Europe (1945–1950), Asia (1951–1952) and the Americas (1953–1954) — revealing Bischof’s distinctive visual language: balanced compositions and refined black-and-white tonalities that earned him recognition, even at the time, as a true “artist.”

“We are proud to support the exhibition dedicated to Werner Bischof,” commented Giuseppe Amitrano, Founder and Group CEO of Dils, “and to renew, for the third consecutive year, our collaboration with the Museo Diocesano Carlo Maria Martini. This exhibition offers visitors Bischof’s profound, humane and remarkably contemporary perspective, while confirming the Museum’s extraordinary ability to make art a living experience that fosters dialogue and reflection.”

“Werner Bischof. Point of View” is the third initiative — following “La Crocefissione di Masaccio” (2024) and “Robert Capa. L’Opera 1932–1954” (2025) — sponsored by Dils at the Museo Diocesano. The initiative is part of This is my Milano, Dils’ social responsibility programme supporting third-sector organisations dedicated to cultural promotion, neighbourhood enhancement and assistance for vulnerable communities.
